Job Title: Test Strategy Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Bradford, Chatham, London, Petersfield

Working Pattern: Hybrid—typically a couple of days a week in the office.

The Role:

As a Test Strategy Manager you will be reporting to the Head of Solution Engineer.

As our Test Strategy Manager you will lead the development and delivery of our testing strategy. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the organisation to embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within our test engineering function.

 

As a Test Strategy Manager, you will:

  • Define, implement, and manage the delivery of the VBG group testing strategy.
  • Lead a team of Test Lead Engineers and circa 50 Test Engineers embedded in Agile scrum teams.
  • Collaborate with platform and development teams to create a continuously refreshed, end-to-end testing environment.
  • Establish and nurture an active testing community of practice within Technology & Change.
  • Drive continuous testing improvements, including the adoption of cutting-edge tools and techniques.
  • Monitor, report, and share key testing metrics with stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for all testing-related matters.
  • Champion team development through coaching, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing testing teams.
  • Strong background in test automation across Mobile, Web, Cloud (Azure/AWS), and APIs.
  • Proficiency with testing tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, and others.
  • In-depth understanding of SaaS systems, UAT, non-functional, and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and TDD/BDD principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
