Job Title: Internal Audit Manager – Conduct & Operations

Contract Type: 12 Month FTC

Location: Bradford

Working Pattern: Hybrid—typically a couple of days a week in the office. Part-time or flexible arrangements are considered to support work-life balance. The Role:

You and Your Team:

In this role you will add value and strengthen the business by delivering independent, objective assurance to the Group. You’ll play a key role in executing our audit plan effectively and on time, while engaging with stakeholders to agree on actions and ensure timely follow-up.

In your day-to-day role, as a Internal Audit Manager you will:

Planning:

  • Detailed planning to determine the scope and objectives of audits
  • Preparing and agreeing audit scope memo within IA and with stakeholders
  • Carrying out a risk assessment and developing the audit test approach and strategy

Fieldwork:

  • Delivery of the required fieldwork to test the key controls as outlined in the audit scope memo
  • Evaluating whether internal controls and risk management activities are designed adequately and operating effectively
  • Assessment of risk and control culture of the area under review
  • Performing audit work to a suitable standard, in line with Group methodologies and ensuring that audit conclusions and assessments are accurate and robust

Reporting:

  • Prepare audit report, determining findings and associated actions
  • Discussing and agreeing audit findings and reports within IA and with stakeholders

Follow-ups:

  • Following up the status of audit actions and where necessary testing their implementation
  • Manage stakeholder relationships in line with the stakeholder management framework
  • Input into wider audit planning and strategic team objectives

What we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge and experience of customer-facing and operational processes and controls
  • A good understanding of the FCA’s rules and guidance including CONC, DISP, SYSC and Consumer Duty requirements and expectations
  • Relationship management and influencing skills with the ability to balance assertiveness with need to build and maintain internal relationships
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Suitable and relevant professional experience or qualifications, (e.g.: IIA / ACCA / ACA / CISA / AgilePM / AMCT or equivalent).
  • Broad-based Financial Services and banking experience
  • Experience of delivering end-to-end internal audits or change assurance, which adds value, and focuses on achieving the strategic objectives
