Location: London, Bradford, Chatham or Petersfield

Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, but we recognise the importance of collaborative working with our colleagues often 1 to 3 days per week in one of our offices

You and Your Team:

As our Senior Product Owner you will be responsible to develop products that drive tangible customer and business outcomes based on a detailed understanding of customer needs and business objectives. To do this you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the VBG and Snoop mobile applications. You will drive every stage of the Agile software development lifecycle and managing the cross-functional delivery team to design, develop, track and improve new product features and experiences on a day-to-day basis. You will play a critical role in understanding our customers needs and pain points by conducting both quantitative and quantitative research to ensure our products meet expectations and remain competitive. 

 

In your day-to-day role, as a Senior Product Owner you will:

  • Responsible for the delivery of VBG and Snoop’s mobile applications in-line with the strategic objectives of the group
  • Removing any blockers that are limiting or halting progress and maintaining delivery cadence vs strategic delivery timeframes (including engaging with key business stakeholders that are required to input into the design and build process at the pace required to maintain the required momentum to meet key delivery timeframes and milestones)
  • Managing the cross-functional delivery team (developers, QAs, business SMEs, designers) based on the principles of Agile delivery methodology
  • Drive Agile best practice throughout the organisation and mentor business stakeholders on their roles and responsibilities to maintain the required delivery cadence
  • Ideation & Prioritisation: analyse qualitative and quantitative customer and business data to identify opportunities to develop the product in-line with customer and business needs. Engage with senior business owners to understand priorities and develop / maintain product roadmap and by participating in group-wide prioritisation activities based on what will deliver the most value for our business and customers within the limitations of known constraints.
  • Design: work with designers and business analysts to bring ideas to life in an iterative design process. Identify and lead engagement with any 3rd parties required to support the solution (technical and business partners) . Bring data-driven UX/UI insights to support customer journey development and iteration. Socialise design journey with key business stakeholders to make sure alignment with strategic objectives is maintained. Understand regulatory environment / impacts of any proposed changes and work with risk colleagues to mitigate / address as part of design. Conduct qualitative and quantitative customer research to validate ideas and design with target customers group[s
  • Refinement: Refine designs with the cross-functional development team and customers. Lead refinement processes to further optimise technical and customer solutions. Work with design team to develop early iterations / prototypes of new experiences and conduct customer research to gather feedback.
  • Requirement Definition: document technical requirements in agile requirements tool (e.g. Jira) based on Behavioural Driven Development methodology (user stories and acceptance criteria).  Maintain product backlog and requirements within requirement tool.
  • Planning: conduct sprint planning ceremony (including story pointing) and document sprint goal. Prioritise the work of the sprint team based on a deep understanding of business objectives, technical and non-technical constraints and delivery cadence.
  • Tracking & Reporting: document new experience / feature objectives and define tracking requirements to assess success/impact. Develop data driven reporting notebooks (in Amplitude) to track impact of product changes. Identify areas for product optimisation based on tracking data.
  • Quality Assurance: support QA with testing and provide product owner sign off as final stage gate in development process
  • Sign-off: provide final sign-off for new features and experiences and manage their delivery as part of the wider release management process.
  • Leadership: provide leadership and direction to cross-functional development team. Remove obstacles and impediments that block progress. Daily management of the delivery team and management of wider business stakeholders that are required to input into the delivery process.
  • Commercial Analysis: support Snoop CPO in managing the subscription product element of the overall P&L. Develop detailed reporting capabilities that enable daily understanding of position vs plan and accurate performance forecasting. Lead subscription pricing strategy aligned to customer needs and business objectives.
  • Agile ceremonies: run all sprint ceremonies (e.g. refinement, planning, design review, lookahead, retros)

 

What will make you stand out?

  • Passionate about developing products that drive tangible customer and business outcomes based on a detailed understanding of customer needs and business objectives
  • Experience conducting both quantitative and quantitative customer research to better understand customer needs and pain points
  • Experience designing customer experiences and products based on Design Thinking methodology
  • Ability to breakdown and analyse business opportunities and define success metrics and KPIs
  • Experience tracking the impact of changes vs predefined customer and business objectives
  • In depth knowledge of Open Banking and financial services
  • Expert in Agile delivery based on multiple years of real-world delivery experience
  • Strong technical skills that can be applied to solution design and improvement
  • Very strong data analytics capability (advanced Excel and basic SQL) to develop data-driven insights
  • Proven ability to work across teams, suppliers and stakeholders to get things done

 

The interview process:

  • Up to 30minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Up to 60 mins with the hiring team – Get to know you / Technical conversation
  • Final interview with the team up to 60 mins – Competency based
